On May 18th and 19th, Rooms to Let: CLE will initiate its sixth year transforming Slavic Village houses with innovative art installations. Led by Slavic Village Development, Rooms to Let: CLE seeks to illuminate one of Cleveland’s most diverse and authentic neighborhoods, as it strives to strengthen a community in the midst of recovery. Dozens of local artists and makers will create one-of-a-kind works in three vacant homes slated for demolition.
In addition to the three houses located on E 53rd and E 54th, guests can expect to explore vacant lot installations, live performance art and get crafty with hands on activities. Preceding the opening weekend, this year’s edition will feature a community art project where the Visit Arts Collective will be working with neighborhood students to create an outdoor installation at the Gertrude Arts Garden; a vacant lot revitalization project designed by the Slavic Village Artist Collective and the Gold Plum as an extension of Rooms To Let: CLE.
