1. Annual Connecting Communities Expo: An annual celebration of Asian Pacific Heritage in May.
2. Ward 2 Connecting Communities Festival: Each year, UMDC hosts it’s Annual Ward 2 Connecting Communities Festival. This event is held at John Adams High School Outdoor Field, located in the heart of the Union-Miles neighborhood. The event is free to the public and has activities for all ages. This is a family fun filled event that is safe to enjoy. The event offers food trucks, retail vendors, resources for families and live entertainment.
3. Union Miles ArtJazz Jamz: Union Miles Development Corporation hosts a series of Art Jazz Jams that includes art instruction and live jazz for all to enjoy. All of the artists and musicians are local. This is an intergenerational event which allows residents to relax and enjoy the talents of locals right in their backyards. Jaz Jams are held at Miles Point, between East 131st and Miles Avenue. This event that is usually held on Saturdays will expand and take place on Thursday evenings, Jazz in June, thanks to our partners “Friends of Union Miles, a small group of residents that are empowered to see positive changes in the community.
