Our friends at Neighborhood Connections launched the Neighbor Up network in 2012. This effort aims to:
- bring people together across lines of difference
- create a web of collaboration and exchange
- and encourage residents from different neighborhoods, as well as institutional leaders, to work together to respond innovatively to the challenges that plague our communities.
There are over 1100 members of Neighbor Up and many more individuals are active in the network. When Neighbor Up members gather, they use small activities — called practices — that prime the room for positivity, feed people’s energy, and unleash the capacity for creative solutions to issues that present challenges in our neighborhoods. The result is greater civic engagement.
Teams are currently working on improving neighborhood health, building community wealth, and creating meaningful places.
Join the Neighbor Up crew at a monthly Network Night or one of our Neighbor Up University gatherings. Meet people, share ideas and resources, and connect — across class, ethnic, racial, geographic and generational divides — on issues you care about.
