Cleveland Walls: Meet the Artists

The week-long Cleveland Walls program in the Midtown neighborhood includes free family-friendly activities, performances and artist talks, in addition to the 20 public murals that will be created during the event. It will physically transform the neighborhood through vibrant art and programming while creating opportunities for local artists and elevating their work. Midtown to host Cleveland Walls International Mural Program

Over twenty local, national, and international artists will participate in Cleveland Walls. They’re all descending on the MidTown neighborhood Aug. 23-28, 2021 for the CLEVELAND WALLS! International Mural Program, a POW! WOW! Worldwide Production.

Recognized as one of the most important and well-curated mural festivals in the world, POW! WOW! Worldwide has helped transform the physical spaces of 17 communities around the globe. This summer, they are working with Northeast Ohio artists, MidTown Cleveland and LAND studio to makeover 20 facades of buildings in MidTown and its surrounding neighborhood in a celebration of art, culture and community.

Jazz for Harvard: Healing Arts

The FREE Jazz for Harvard: Healing Arts event is Thursday August 5th from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM and will be hosted by the Harvard Community Services Center. Live music, vendors, and food trucks will be there as residents and visitors come to enjoy this annual event.

Edgewater Sidewalk Fest is Aug. 8th

FREE and open to all! The Edgewater Sidewalk Fest is a summertime day full of outdoor activities, shopping, and dining for all ages along our beautiful Clifton Boulevard in Cleveland’s Edgewater neighborhood.

Eat & Explore CLE extends into Summer

Eat & Explore CLE was launched as a wintertime initiative to boost business and outdoor activity in city neighborhoods. Now, as summer approaches and Covid restrictions are lessened, we encourage residents and visitors to continue to explore the city for dining and shopping needs. We invite them to patronize restaurants, explore other nearby small businesses, and take advantage of unique, safe and friendly outdoor spaces in Cleveland’s neighborhoods.

NEW EVENT! MetroHealth Cleveland Juneteenth Freedom Fest

Juneteenth is the oldest nationally celebrated commemoration of the ending of slavery on June 19, 1865 – the day when all African Americans became free. Cleveland’s Freedom Fest is set to become an annual destination event in the heart of Downtown Cleveland, poised to position our community as a national leader in celebrating Juneteenth. This new event is presented by Downtown Cleveland Alliance, Karamu House and Ingenuity Cleveland.

#VoicesofCLE public art marks first appearance Downtown

Amplifying voices in our community – especially those of color – is more important than ever, and the #VoicesofCLE public art initiative is a call to action for local artists and creators to inspire, communicate, and represent through their medium. This effort is meant to provide a platform for freedom of expression and encourage healing while also sparking conversation and action, here and now, as we unite to move Cleveland forward.

Since June, organizers have connected businesses with local artists to create visual expressions that elevate the perspectives and lived experiences of all our community’s residents on storefronts and building facades throughout Downtown Cleveland and beyond. As we move into 2021, new opportunities are constantly arising. We are exploring sites for mobile galleries and vendor opportunities, permanent murals, and more. We’d love to work with you!
